Getting to the Zermatt and Homestead Resorts

The Homestead and Zermatt Resorts are located in Midway, UT,  51 miles from the Salt Lake City International Airport. In good weather it takes about an hour to drive to the Resorts from the airport. Park City is located at the midpoint between Salt Lake City  and Midway.

Art House Convergence will provide a limited number of shuttles from the SLC airport to Midway on Sunday January 19 and Monday January 20, and from Midway to the SLC airport on Thursday January 24, 2020.

SHUTTLES REQUIRE AN RSVP IN ADVANCE OF THE CONFERENCE.

Other Lodging Options

In addition to the Zermatt and Homestead Resorts lodging for the annual conference is available at the Blue Boar Inn, Invited Inn, Best Western Plus Heber Valley Hotel, and various AirBNBs.

Snow Boots and Swimming Suits?

Midway, Utah became a relaxing retreat location over 120 years ago because of the area’s natural warm mineral water craters.  The Zermatt Resort and its sister property the Homestead Resort offer a myriad of activities including cross country skiing, snow shoeing, sleigh rides plus a well appointed fitness center & full service spa.  One of the most unique features of the paired resorts is the Homestead Crater, a naturally occurring, mineral water fed limestone beehive with 90-96 degree water perfect for soaking, swimming or even scuba diving.

Dress Code

The Conference style guide is similar to the Sundance Film Festival. The resort is cold and often snowy in the winter so we recommend snow boots, long pants, and a ski jacket or ski vest w/ appropriate winter accessories (mittens, scarves, etc.).

Think Alpine Chalet (like visiting the mountains of Switzerland)

The Zermatt Resort has a large central registration area, two restaurants, and conference center. Most of the guest rooms are hotel style & attached to the central area but there are also condo style accommodations available in adjoining buildings. The conference center is directly adjacent to the central building so session rooms are just a few steps away. The sessions held at the Homestead Resort will be in their main building, just a short walk from the Zermatt.

Internet and Cell Phone Connectivity

The Zermatt and Homestead Resorts have FREE wireless internet in all the guest rooms. Free wifi is also available in the all of the conference rooms. However, you may experience gaps in cell phone service.

Business Center

The Zermatt Resort has a  business center with a computer and provides copying services.

The Resorts are Peaceful (a bit remote)

You will be kept very busy during the Convergence. Most meals are provided as part of your Convergence fee and there are two restaurants and a small bakery at the resort. There are other restaurants, shops, and services in the nearby town of Midway but you will need an automobile or take a taxi to reach them.

Dining at the Zermatt and Homestead

There are three restaurant facilities on the two resort grounds. All three will be open during the conference at varying times.

Most of your meals are provided by the Convergence sponsors at no additional charge to delegates.  These meals will be held in the Bernese Event Center at the Zermatt Resort. There will be vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available.
