The Countdown to the Convergence Begins!
The 2012 Art House Convergence is in its fifth year of bringing together community-based, mission-driven cinema operators from throughout North America. 250 delegates will attend this year’s Convergence – an all-time record!
The purpose of the Art House Convergence is to increase the quantity and quality of Art House theaters in North America. At the first Art House Convergence in 2008, 25 delegates came together in Salt Lake City, just before the start of the Sundance Film Festival, to learn from each other. The educational sessions at the conference are designed to promote best-practices in the programming and management of professionally run community cinemas. The 1,000% growth in attendance over these last five years and the increasingly sophisticated educational programs available at the Art House Convergence indicates we are having an impact on enhancing and expanding Art House cinemas in cities large and small throughout North America. In 2010, the Convergence moved to the Wasatch Mountain resort town of Midway, Utah. The beautiful setting of the Zermatt Resort further enhances the Convergence.
We look forward to welcoming delegates from nearly 100 theaters to Utah at the Art House Convergence, January 16-19. If you have not yet registered for the conference there is still time. It is sure to be the best Convergence yet. See you there!
Best Regards,
Russ Collins
